Google’ email service Gmail is back after almost two hours long outage. Both app and desktop version of the world’s most-popular email service were down. Google acknowledged the outage on the Google Workspace dashboard after about an hour. The Gmail service showed in Red, which means service disruption. All other Google services were showing in Green that is no other service witnessed downtime. Gmail has over 1.5 billion users worldwide. The email app was among the top downloaded apps of 2022.

Downdetector, the website that tracks online status of apps and websites, showed disruption in Gmail’s service since 7 pm. The reports peaked around 8.28 pm with 315 users reporting outages. The downdetector website also tweeted about the outage. “User reports indicate Gmail is having problems since 9:12 AM EST. http://downdetector.com/status/gmail/ RT if you’re also having problems #Gmaildown,” tweeted the website. It is also not clear how widespread the outage was. Several users on Twitter reported that Gmail is down for them. From the tweets, it appears that the outage was spread across several countries.
